Purpose of the Call
With DGR 713 of 24/07/2023, the Regional Council of Lombardy approved the criteria for the new edition of the Ricerca e Innova call, aimed at supporting investments in industrial research and experimental development by Lombardy SMEs to promote the technological and digital innovation of companies.Beneficiaries
The incentive is aimed at SMEs with an operational headquarters in Lombardy, already established, registered and active in the Business Register with at least two approved financial statements as of the date of submission of the application for participation in the callEligible Projects
Projects involving industrial research, experimental development, and process innovation activities are eligible for the incentive. Specifically, the following projects are eligible:a) industrial research, experimental development and process innovation (within which digital innovation and/or transformation activities may also be included, such as - for example - advanced manufacturing solutions, additive manufacturing, augmented reality, simulation, industrial internet, cloud, cybersecurity, big data);
b) industrial research and experimental development;
c) industrial research and process innovation;
d) experimental development and process innovation;
e) industrial research only;
f) experimental development only.
The Incentive
The incentive consists of a combination of a subsidized loan (0.5% rate) and a non-repayable capital grant.The incentive may be granted up to 80% of eligible expenses (70% in the form of a loan and 10% in the form of a grant; the grant portion is increased up to 20% for projects contributing to the goals of the European Green Deal) and up to a maximum of 800,000 Euros.
The duration of the subsidized loan is between a minimum of 3 years and a maximum of 7 years, with a maximum grace period until the disbursement of the balance and in any case not exceeding 30 months.
The disbursement of the incentive may occur in a maximum of two tranches, including an advance (up to a maximum of 70% of the loan portion) and the balance of the incentive (including the balance of the subsidized loan and the grant portion).
