Subsidized finance includes a wide range of tools that can reduce the financial burden on companies and incentivize investments in specific sectors or activities. Let's look together at the types of incentives available.

Types of grants

Subsidized finance grants are divided into several categories, each with its own specific characteristics and requirements. Among the main ones we find:

- non-repayable grants

These are sums of money disbursed that do not need to be repaid. Non-repayable grants are economic incentives that do not require repayment by the beneficiary. These grants are often used to stimulate economic activities considered to be in the public interest, such as innovation, sustainable development, employment, or support for specific categories of businesses, such as start-ups or SMEs.

- tax incentives

These are tax deductions or credits granted for certain expenses or investments. They are incentives that the State makes available to citizens and businesses to stimulate investment or support the economy. These can take the form of deductions or tax credits and are applicable to various sectors. An example could be the Ecobonus, namely tax deductions guaranteed to those who carry out energy efficiency interventions and for the installation of systems for the production of renewable energy.

- subsidized rate loans

Subsidized rate loans are loans offered on more favorable terms than standard market rates, with a reduced interest rate. These loans are often part of economic support programs promoted by the Italian government or the European Union to incentivize investments in strategic sectors of the economy, to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), or to promote innovation and sustainable development.

- guarantees

Guarantees are financial instruments aimed at facilitating access to credit for businesses, especially for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), start-ups, and individual entrepreneurs who may not have sufficient collateral to offer to obtain traditional loans. These are provided by public or private entities that commit to covering part of the risk assumed by the bank or credit institution providing the financing.

Types of calls for proposals

Calls for subsidized finance can be issued by different entities and at various levels:

- Chamber of Commerce
These are calls promoted by local Chambers of Commerce, often focused on supporting small and medium-sized enterprises in the territory.

- Regional
These are funds managed by the Regions, with the aim of promoting local economic development and supporting specific sectors.

- National
These are incentives promoted by the State, which can have a broader scope and are often aimed at promoting innovation and competitiveness.

- International
These are funds coming from international bodies such as the European Union, which offer financing opportunities for projects that have an impact at the European or global level.

The Success Fee in Subsidized Finance

The term "success fee" refers to a success commission, namely a payment that is made only in the event of a positive outcome of the financial operation. In subsidized finance, the success fee is often linked to obtaining financing or a grant and is calculated as a percentage of the funded amount. This mechanism ensures that the consultant or financial intermediary is remunerated based on the results achieved, thus aligning their interests with those of the client company.

Subsidized finance is a powerful tool for companies seeking to expand their business, innovate, or simply consolidate their market position. Understanding the different types of grants and calls for proposals is fundamental to successfully navigating the landscape of available financing. Furthermore, the figure of the financial consultant, remunerated with a success fee, becomes a valuable ally for companies in the search for and access to these financing opportunities.
