The goal was clear: to allow potential customers to “build” their own tank, configuring it autonomously with accessories and options available in the catalog.This tool not only improves the user experience but also enables the sales department to receive all the necessary information for an accurate and immediate quote, accompanied by a realistic render of the configured product.
Although La Solida tanks are highly customizable based on the specific needs of each customer, it was possible to define a series of standard cases that make the configurator a versatile and scalable tool.
The development process: technology and attention to detail
The project started from the 3D models provided by La Solida's technical office. The Glacom team worked on optimizing the geometries to make the models lightweight and perfectly usable on the web, without compromising visual quality.Within the model, various materials and finishes were managed, ensuring an extremely realistic aesthetic rendering of the final product.
In parallel, on the software side, the configuration logics and the constraints between accessories and options were developed to guide the user in building a consistent and technically correct tank.
A tool that grows with the company
The 3D configurator was designed from the start as an evolutionary platform.The software structure allows for the management of different product types in the La Solida catalog, and the system is already prepared to integrate new families of tanks.
Future developments also include the activation of augmented reality, which will allow the user to visualize the configured tank in full scale within their own environment.
